Picking the Perfect Wallpaper Theme with Moodboards!

Duck Hunting Cabin Vibes or Moody Moths? Help Me Choose my next wallpaper design!

If you’ve ever wondered what goes into creating a new nature-inspired wallpaper collection, you're in the right place! Today I’m giving you a sneak peek behind the scenes—right where the magic begins: moodboards, sketches, and a big decision.

I'm in the early stages of creating a new wallpaper collection for outdoor-loving families, lake house lovers, and kids' spaces that bring a little wild charm indoors. And I’ve narrowed it down to two very different—but equally fun—ideas. I’m sharing my thought process and design direction below, and I’d love to hear what you think!

Option 1: Duck Hunting Cabin Wallpaper Collection 🦆

This idea was inspired by crisp fall mornings, muddy boots, and cozy cabins tucked in the woods. Picture hand-sketched ducks, tall reeds, birch trees, and vintage duck decoys all coming together with rustic colors like mossy green, mustard, and rich brown. It would be perfect for:

  • Boys’ bedrooms or nursery accent walls

  • Wallpaper for a lake house mudroom or bunk room

  • Outdoor-themed kids’ play spaces

  • Even matching duck hunting fabric for pajamas or bedding sets!

This one is for the families that live for fall weekends, woodsy adventures, and that first cup of cocoa after coming inside.

Option 2: Moth + Botanical-Inspired Wallpaper Collection 🦋🌿

On the other end of the design trail, I’ve been dreaming of something softer, more magical. Think: delicate moths, vintage field guides, mushrooms, and moody forest florals. The color palette leans into dusky plums, earthy greens, and golden tans—definitely a little outside my usual bright style, but that’s what’s fun about exploring new creative paths!

It would be perfect for:

  • Nature-themed girls’ rooms with a woodland twist

  • Nursery wallpaper with a vintage meets enchanted forest vibe

  • Moody, artistic feature walls for cabins or reading nooks

  • Coordinating fabric for kids’ bedding, dresses, or cozy quilts

Help Me Decide!

Both of these collections are rooted in my love for the outdoors—and in turning trail inspiration into textile design. Whether it’s a nostalgic duck blind or a moonlit moth in the pines, I want these wallpapers to tell a story that brings the outdoors in.
